SEO: What To Avoid
Avoid These SEO Blunders
SEO is the main thing when you are looking to boost your website’s Google rankings. You will find many tips on the internet on what to do. Sometimes, what NOT to do is equally important. We have put down some things here which are known bad practices.
Paid Links: Buying links are not worth it. They are soon recognized to be scams and in the end, not useful. Only those links which point to your site from authority sites are valuable and trusted.
Advertisements: Putting up ads could be an easy way of making money but do remember that every time you do this, your website’s speed slows down. It is an important enough criterion seen by Google.
Over usage of Keywords: Using properly researched keywords can help you boost your ranking by a great margin, but stuffing keywords into your article for the sake of it and ruining the readability is not worth it. Google gives just as much priority to the readability factor as to the use of proper keywords.
Sneaky links: Don’t ever do the mistake of tricking users into clicking things which are hidden in a page. You will never be in Google’s books again! Some common examples of sneaky links are putting links in a single character such as a full stop, keeping font size as 0, or using white text on a white background or something similar.
Duplicate or Plagiarized content: In the case of there being two sets of content, each identical to the other, Google will index only one. It does not matter if both the pages are within your own website or on another platform. Make sure you do not publish plagiarized content or let someone else steal yours!
Mobile app download invite: If you welcome the mobile visitors with a full-screen advertisement to download your mobile app, Google will strike you off the list of mobile-friendly platforms.
