Why Are Influencer’s Choosing Instagram Stories Over Snapchat Moments?
Instagram or Snapchat?
Yes, Instagram has also become much more popular among influencer’s. Their use of Snapchat Moments declined 33 percent over the course of a six-month period ended in August, according to a study conducted by the social marketing agency Mediakix. Over the same period, there was a 14 percent increase in Instagram Stories’ usage. The research found that, on average, 12 top influencer’s posted 7.6 Instagram Stories per day compared with just 3.5 daily stories on Snapchat, meaning that they used the feature on the Facebook-owned company twice as often.
What Influential Users Are Saying?
Matt Cutshall, one of the influencers who was surveyed for the study, said he preferred Snapchat’s unique filters but he abandoned the platform given that it doesn’t allow users to tag friends and he thinks it’s less user-friendly compared to Instagram, which he uses a lot because it includes everything from photos to videos, stories and live streaming. Cutshall told Mediakix he switched to Instagram as soon as he noted more views on the platform. He also mentioned his phone started overheating every time he tried to use Snapchat.
Venezuelan influencer Lele Pons, who has 19 million followers on Instagram and is part of Forbes’ “30 under 30”, said she prefers this social network because “it’s a great tool to utilize if you’re focused on building your following while keeping your followers engaged”, according to the report. The social media entertainer first gained fame on Vine.
The list of social media stars also included Alex Lange, Alexis Ren, Amanda Cerny, Arielle Vandenberg, Curtis Lepore, the Eh Bee Family, Hannah Stocking, King Bach, Logan Paul, and Shay Mitchell. Audiences become even more engaged as Instagram evolves.
